YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO, NOT WHAT YOU SAY

Carl Jung...

I remember clearly, as teenagers, seeing the rubbish left by others, on many rock marks, where we went fishing. Summer times always saw a massive increase in rubbish left by sea anglers visiting our beautiful coastline. Looking back it was both my friends, and myself, who were angry and upset with the behaviour of other humans. Our playground, our backyard so to speak, littered by careless, thoughtless, selfish individuals.

I digress from the photograph here. Thank you @seagerworld for yet another capture of myself and my wombling antics.

I find certain areas of the coastline attract huge amounts of commercial fishing debris, debris that kills, poisons, suffocates. Strong onshores with stormy seas throwing up so much marine life choking, man made litter. My thoughts are always ‘how can we change this?’

Personally, I feel the need to research more. I know what I do at present, is minuscule in regards to protecting and saving our planet, our oceans.

I often feel alone. How can we change people’s behaviour? Can we encourage people to carry a stuff sack and gloves with them, on walks, dog walks, bird watching etc.

It’s actually good for ones mental health. Seeing a rubbish free area of our beautiful countryside, coastline, favourite beach. Making a difference. Having a focus, a purpose.

I know we need to address the cause, rather than the effect. Less manufacture and use of plastic based products etc.

Please, as I often ask, be kind. Please recognise my angst. You don’t have to agree. It’s okay. I’m merely expressing my concerns on my account.

It’s about thought provoking, stimulating, devils advocate etc

If you read all of this, then thank you I have wittered on …..
